Throughout the Christmas carol “Hark the Herald Angels Sing”, Jesus is described as the great son of God, “the Prince of Peace”, and as the long awaited messiah who will end all suffering and save all of his people. The song puts emphasis on the praise and excitement the people are feeling towards the birth of Jesus. “Hail the heav’n-born Prince of Peace! Hail the Song Of Righteousness!... Hark! The herald angels sing ‘Glory to the newborn King!’”
Jesus was both fully human and fully divine. Nothing about his humanity could detract from his godliness; and vice versa. Jesus is the bridge where God comes to earth and people come to heaven. His birth is the sign of his divinity, pure and clean, and no way a product of earth. He is one of us, but he arrives from heaven with perfection and takes the full human journey from childhood to adulthood. Because of this, it is more easy for us to believe he is Christ, for he had undergone all the same temptations that we have faced throughout our lives.
